Why this coffee?

Nightfall Brew was chosen for a simple reason: we wanted a decaf we’d genuinely want to drink ourselves.

Too often, decaffeinated coffees feel like a compromise. They lose sweetness, complexity or character somewhere along the way. This one didn’t.

From the first cupping, Nightfall Brew stood confidently alongside its caffeinated counterparts, offering sweetness, balance and clarity without sacrificing flavour. It quickly became our favourite afternoon and evening coffee — the kind of cup that lets you slow down without feeling like you’re missing out.

About the farm

Nightfall Brew is sourced from carefully selected coffee farms in Colombia, where high elevations, favourable growing conditions and experienced producers create coffees with exceptional sweetness and balance.

The quality of the original coffee is what makes a great decaf possible. Before the caffeine is removed, it must first be an outstanding coffee in its own right.

This coffee is produced by dedicated growers who focus on cultivating high-quality coffees destined for specialty decaffeination.

Their work in the field provides the foundation for a cup that remains expressive, sweet and enjoyable long after the caffeine has been removed.

Variety & Processing

A blend of carefully selected Colombian varieties chosen for their sweetness, balance and versatility.

These cultivars provide the structure needed to retain flavour and complexity throughout the decaffeination process.

Nightfall Brew is decaffeinated using the Sugar Cane process, a method that uses naturally derived ethyl acetate produced from fermented sugar cane.

The process gently removes caffeine while preserving the coffee’s sweetness, body and character. The result is a decaf that retains much of what makes specialty coffee enjoyable: flavour, balance and complexity.

In the cup

Nightfall Brew offers notes of milk chocolate, caramel and soft dried fruit, supported by a smooth body and gentle sweetness. The acidity is mellow and rounded, creating a comforting cup that feels balanced, calm and easy to return to throughout the day.

Every Umaña coffee is roasted in small batches in Sofia. Made by humans.
