Coffee travels far before it reaches a cup. Across landscapes, seasons and many human hands. Our role is simple: to treat that journey with respect.
What stands behind Umaña
Coffee today moves quickly - harvested, traded, roasted and consumed at speed.
We believe it deserves more attention than that and Umaña was created as a slower approach to coffee.
The name comes from the Aymara language, where umaña means to drink. It also means human.
We were drawn to its simplicity.
A small pause. A shared moment. A daily ritual.
For us, coffee is not only a product. It is a way people connect with a place, with a conversation, with themselves.
Umaña exists to honour those moments.
A human approach
The name umaña reflects the human aspect of coffee.
The farmers who cultivate it.
The roasters who shape it.
The baristas who prepare it.
The people who share it.
Coffee connects all of them.
We try to honour that connection in the way we work.
Slowness as a Choice
We roast in small batches and cup frequently.
Profiles are refined gradually.
Nothing is rushed to market.
This approach may limit scale, but it allows us to maintain clarity and balance in every coffee we release.
Thoughtful packaging
We design our packaging to last longer than trends. Less waste. More intention. Because sustainability should feel natural, not performative.

Coffee is more than flavour.
It is the pause before the day begins.
The conversation that lasts longer than expected.
A moment of attention in the middle of work.
Umaña exists for those moments.
Coffee, made by humans.
